Overview
Steering the Course is World Sailing's global women's sailing festival — a celebration of the sport and an open invitation to women and girls to discover it by bringing together sailing communities to highlight the achievements of women already active in the sport and welcome those who have never set foot on a boat.
In Malta, the initiative is driven by Yachting Malta as part of its Race Week programme of events, with the Royal Malta Yacht Club leading on the ground in collaboration with Vikings Sailing Club. The three day event consists of taster sessions which culminate in women only race days and mentoring opportunities— all designed to lower the barriers to entry and grow a more diverse and vibrant sailing community.
By bringing Steering the Course to Malta, Yachting Malta reaffirms its commitment to an inclusive sport — one where participation is open to all, regardless of gender, age, or experience.
